Marie Claire How is Jen Nude Meant to Make Girls Feel Good About Body Image

First up, we are 100% for magazines showing images that are not photoshopped or at least acknowledging where the magic of PS is used. But, this smacks more of publicity stunt than a community service to promote positive body image.

Seriously, how does having Miss Universe, in all her naked, perfect glory meant to make the rest of us who are not so genetically blessed feel better about our own bodies. God, I think I feel better in the knowledge that everything is photoshopped vs thinking that there are a handful of women out there who look perfect without the help of a computer program!!!!

Our own Get Real Role Model Bianca Dye has taken on this cause in the media and we say good on her. If Marie Claire wanted to make a statement on positive body image why not show a real women who has not been subjected to photoshop. There are countless candidates - real and celebrity- who would be more realistic than the girl who was crowned Miss Universe.

Now, we love Jen and we say good on her for being so genetically blessed and beautiful and why wouldn't she have the confidence to show it all without any touch ups - she is perfect!!! But, seriously, real girls looking at this are not going to feel better about being normally larger, with bellies, cellulite or the myriad of other things that make up most girls/women's bodies - women who are not supermodels!!!

Show us real girls who reflect the norm not some out of this stratosphere beauty that is not an ideal the majority of us can live up to! When mags start to do this we will know they are being serious about helping promote positive self esteem!
