Our fave makeup artist to the stars, Fiona Corrigan-Robertson, gives us her top tips for getting the latest winter looks just right.
This winter it is all about shimmery, pearly skin and berry stained lips and nails.
The hottest item for your makeup bag is white liquid highlighter (liquid shimmer). You mix it into your foundation before applying or dab some on the inside corner of eyes, above the cheekbone and on the cupid’s bow of the mouth, to add a fresh sheen. Your skin will be left with a gorgeous highlighted shimmer. .
Blush has to look as if your face has been kissed by the winter sun, like a touch of warmth creating a subtle glow across your face. Apply crème blush lightly with your finger tips, patting and blending across the bridge of your nose and the apples of the cheeks (this is the fleshy part that pops up when you smile).
The look for eyes is minimal. Use eyeshadows from a neutral palette. Apply beige or biscuit tones all over the lid. Follow with a light to medium colour, like a light warm beige to the socket, and blend well into the crease.
Using an eyelash curler, curl your lashes to open up your eye.Curl your lashes first and then apply two coats of either a black or brown mascara.
Lip shades in dark berry, plum and burgundy tones are so hot this season with matching nail polish.
"What I love most about makeup isthe way it can be used to enhance your best features or downplay imperfections So, just have a little fun with with it…it really mustn’t be taken too seriously…well maybe a little seriously. Fi x"
