Teen Beauty 101: The Ultimate Lowdown of Autumn/Winter Looks 08

Bellaboo was lucky enough to be invited to the highly anticipated MAC cosmetics launch for Autumn/Winter 2008 seasonal trends. Recently making up the faces gracing the catwalks at Rosemount Sydney Fashion Week, world renowned makeup artist Gordon Espinet gave a presentation on the do or dies of makeup glam this season.

Gordon Espinet is the Vice president of MAC cosmetics and a makeup artist to the stars. Attending 22 fashion shows each year and working alongside the big names including Chloe, Oscar Del a Renta and locals Collette Dinnigan and Jayson Brunsdon, Espinet influences high profile looks according to the trends he sees floating about on the merry -go-round of international catwalks, celebrity style and magazine covers.

Gordon Espinet's tip's for this Autumn/Winter;

1. MAC's Mineralize Skin Finish Foundation, $56
2. Pigment $39
3. MAC's Prep and Prime Skin $44

Honed
Better known as the fresh face look. Espinet urges you to stay basic with foundation this season, creating a clear appearance with minimal tones. He says; "At the end of the day it is about looking beautiful, not necessarily always looking trendy". Giving yourself the honed look will allow you to stay natural and neutral throughout the course of the day!

  • To get this honed look, opt for mineralized loose foundation such as MAC's Mineralize Skin Finish Foundation, $56. Work it onto the skin with a soft and subtle brush, below the eye-line area.
  • For transparent contoured cheeks without the heavy matt appearance of blush, Espinet urges the product Pigment $39, in deep subtle tones to create your clear incandescent look.

Tip: Use a base liquid Primer before foundation like MAC's Prep and Prime Skin $44, to create a guard between the makeup and your skin. It will give your foundation a fresh, glowing appeal that won't clog your pours.

1. MAC Liquid Eyeliner, $32
2. MAC outer edge Lash Extensions $20
3. Eye-lid shading pencil brush $45
4. Pro Lash Mascara $25

SevenTease
Espinet describes the eyes as "The window to the soul", which is a main focus in this major trend. According to MAC, it is time to recreate the 70's with charcoal and deep shadows, defined brows and luscious lashes.

  • Get a sleek, black eye-line with this easy to apply MAC Liquid Eyeliner, $32.
  • For a great impact, these MAC outer edge Lash Extensions $20 will create a lush looking eye for any occasion's wear.
  • Makeup tools are a must-have for any makeup kit, opt for this eye-lid shading pencil brush $45.
  • To compliment your eyeshadow application opt for this Pro Lash Mascara $25.

1. MAC lipstick, $35

De Vine
Bold burgundy lips are among the hottest tips expressed by Espinet to grace the runway for fall. From Plum Rose brown to scarlet red, the trend states that royal rubenseque tones speak out as the lip colour of the season.

  • Get this solid MAC lipstick at just $35 in a variety of shades and colours.
