Sit in on Bellaboo’s beauty tutorial this month where our very own make-up expert, Susie, gives us the lowdown on the hottest look of the season - the Smoky Eye.
‘Cos we are all for individuality, we love this smouldering look with a twist that takes smoky from greys and blacks to the hottest colour this season – violet.
The key to a striking smoky eye is to have a beautiful even complexion. Using your foundation, concealer and foundation powder you can create a stunningly flawless base. Don’t forget to add in your contour! That means using your blush, bronzer and highlighters to bring your face back to life with an irresistible shine!
The Smokey eye
1. Take a white shadow like Benefit Snow Bunny Lust Duster ($18) and press all over the eye from the eye lid up onto the brow bone to for an instant base.
2. Use Benefit High Beam Highlighter ($24) and paint underneath brow on brow bone to define your arch and give the illusion of a definite, clean, perfectly shaped eyebrow.
3. Tap in E. Funkhouser ($23.95), luminous shimmer powder (pink) all over the eyelid using a flat shadow brush.
Tip: By tapping shadow you are intensifying the pigment rather the wiping it away.

4. Apply Rimmel London Trio Eye-shadow ($13.95) into the socket of the eye. Then lightly brush the purple around socket bone whilst keeping in mind that you want to create that perfect almond shape.
Tip: If you find it difficult to recognise the socket of the eye, apply the purple shadow with the eye open - the socket sits just above where the lashes touch on top of the lid.
5. Take your Designer Brands Charcoal eye-shadow ($4.99) (brown pearl palette), and apply in the crease of the eye lid. Keep this color to the outer corner of crease and bring in down in a “C†shape to the top of the lash line.
6. To create the true sexy smoky look, take the Rimmel London Stormy Grey Kohl eyeliner ($8.29) and line the lower lash line. Take your eye liner brush and softly smudge and smoke the color!
