Beauty Bling Bling
Sparkle lightly, sparkle brightly is the key to the hottest new makeup trend with the arrival of some serious beauty bling. Expect to see glitter, glitter everywhere but just be sure not to make that your motto when trying to adapt this attention-seeking trend. Here's our guide to glitter…
Think glitter and immediate images of scary Mardi Gras divas spring to mind. Now, if you are trying to channel that look, that's fine but if you are keen to add some bling to your beauty then there are some definite do's and don'ts when it comes to the new glitterati.
Do sparkle lightly in order to sparkle brightly. What we're talkin' 'bout is this - yes, there is an Aladdin's treasure of glitter on the shelves this season - glitter eyeshadows, blush, eyeliner, even mascara but that doesn't mean you have to wear every single piece of the glitter collection at once. The absolute golden rule of glitter is less is more. So, if you decide to amp up your eyes with glitter shades then stick to eye shadow glitter to create a sparkling effect - that's it.
That one focus on your eyes is enough glitter to look at the height of fashion without looking like you belong on a float with matching glitter thong and bra top!! Or, add some sparkle to your normal look with a little sparkle along the eye line with glitter eyeliner. Or, make those lashes shine with a hint of glitter mascara.
Do not under any circumstances have more than one glitter focus going on at once. As per above, use glitter sparingly. Yes, you may love the trend but trust us - if you go ballistic with the glitter you will live to regret it in years to come when you look back on photos of those glitter days and ask yourself - "Why, oh why did I not listen to my mother when she told me I looked like a drag queen????"
Do do glitter during the day. It actually can look pretty awesome. There are some more subtle shimmer glitters in shadows that give you a gorgeous shimmering effect for total glam appeal during the day. Save the ultra shiny disco ball glitter options for night time.
Do be careful about some of the glitters out there with large glitter particles as they can irritate eyes. As the particles are large they can fall into eyes causing irritation so choose carefully.
Here's our pick of the glitterati of the glitter makeup world!

Australis Mini
Sparkling Eye Mascara
The mascara separated the lashes evenly, dried quickly, and the
very best thing about it - was easy to remove. It didn't irritate
my eyes one bit whilst most others do. The mascara didn't smudge,
clump or flake.
Tired of ordinary black mascara? Well, now you can have gold glittering
eyelashes! You will definitely be up for batting the eye lashes
now! This lasts for a long time without smudging or rubbing off
so you won't need to reapply throughout the night.

Sugar Baby Eye
Candy Shimmer Shadow in Sienna Storm
This stunning eye shadow is perfect for a night out! It adds a touch
of shimmery flair to your eye makeup! This is great because it can
be worn casually during the day and can be dressed up for night
wear, basically an all rounder!

I NUOVI Dust Iridescent
Colour Pigment in Starlight Pink
If you want to shimmer and sparkle this is definitely your thing!
The shimmer dust can be used as an eye shadow by itself or try using
it over an existing colour to add sparkle! The good thing about
I NUOVI Dust is that it doesn't rub off or need reapplication. This
is a great example of a sexy subtle shimmer that will give you that
up to the minute sparkly look without being OTT.

Australis Mini
Sparkling Eyes Liquid Eyeliner
Black eye liner is out, shimmer is in! To make your eyes sparkle
and shine this is exactly what you need. This can also be used as
a glittering eye shadow if you feel like even more sparkles!

Physicians Formula
Shimmer Strips Custom Bronzer, Blush and Eye Shadow
Wow! Now this really is a must have. It's a bronzer, blush and eye
shadow all in one compact. It adds a luminous glow to your cheeks
and eyes making you look extra hot for the night out or the perfect
way to subtly shine and sparkle during the day.

Sugarbaby Crystal-Ize
Eye Glitter
I've been trying to follow the glitter trend lately by looking all
'starry eyed' when I go out on the town. Sugarbaby Crystal-Ize is
an easy to use eye shadow that you team up with the Sugarbabe Liquid
Eye. You mix these together to make a thicker eyeshadow and can
apply a little like eyeliner for that sexy shimmer that lasts all
the way through a long night.
