This was the last product I tested, and was my absolute favourite. The smell was divine – you can really smell the apricot oil, which is YUMMY. It was such a smooth and soft feeling with its mousse texture, which made it easy to spread and see which parts needed covering. The tan lasted me several days and it wasn’t until the fourth day I decided to reapply onto my skin. It gives an all-natural cover-up to look amazing with an exotic appeal. It truly lives up to its expectations, after all being named Summer Lovers, it doesn’t disappoint. I felt as if I was having a party on the beach just smelling it. The aloe vera gives you this clean feeling. It was STREAK FREE with an amazing result. It’s such a beautiful way to keep a long tan and not get the harmful damages that the sun brings.

2. Body Collection Fabulous Fake Tan, $14.95

This fake tan was indeed fabulous, with a ‘less intense’ colour that looked completely natural and a lovely smell of caramel that made me hungry! The colour of the bottle is the colour of the cream... a rich bronze with added sparkles. Although you have to apply it with your hands (remember to wash them consistently!) the colour wasn’t as strong as others so if you made a mistake it wasn’t as noticeable. The colour takes a few hours to develop. At the start it looked like I had just smeared sparkles all over myself! It lasted well but if you wanted a stronger colour, I suggest you apply it a second time the next day. I would recommend the Fabulous Fake Tan to people who have paler skin or who want a lighter tan.

3. Body Collection Fabulous Fake Tan, $14.95

I love this fake tan to bits. It has a yummy caramel smell when you first put it on and is really simple to use for first time fake tanners like me. It left a natural looking shimmery brown colour with no streak lines. I found that this particular tan only lasted for 2-3 days, but who cares when it's this easy to put on!

4. Nivea Body Sunkissed Skin, $6.99

5. Estee Lauder Self Tan Sunless Towelette, $51 (box of 10)

I rated this product highly due to attributes like: a) best application method - towelettes are the cleanest way of applying self tan lotion. b) The colour is fantastic, not an orange colour but more of a natural sun tan colour. c) there are no streaks and I think this is due to the fact that you don't use your hands to apply it. d) Each application gives you a nice tan colour for at least a week.

6. Great Spray Tan by Ella Bache, $45

The most impressive fake tan I have ever used! Definitely lives up to its name! So easy to use! Just spray and go! And ever so easy to tan those hard to reach places! Dries almost instantly and you can get dressed within minutes. After the tan has developed, you are left with 100% natural-looking flawlessly bronzed skin fit for a goddess! No second application needed. Not a single streak appeared, even in those tricky places which tend to turn out multi coloured, such as the feet, knees and elbows.

7. Aviva Sunless Tanning Gel, $28

Aviva Sunless Tanning Gel smells great and is easy to apply. I loved the feeling – a cooling gel-like effect while tanning your body. You don’t need much at all to cover your whole body and the tan lasted all week.

8. ModelCo Tan Airbrush in a Can, $32 (150ml)

Unlike all other spray tans I have used, this one actually goes on smooth with no streaks! There’s no need to rub it in because the mist is so fine. It gives you a quick-drying, instant bronzed glow, which gets darker in a couple of hours and lasts for a few days. It smells pretty good too, think chocolate and caramel!
