Hi Bellaboo fans, It’s been an exciting month with an inbox full of emails from Bellaboo fans. As much as I’d like to post all of your questions, it would take a whole website of its own so I’ve chosen a couple to share with you this month. Email me at 2cents@bellaboobabe.com so we can chat.

Q. I used to watch you on MTV all the time and would love to be a VJ or a presenter on TV. Where do I start?
2 cents: It’s fantastic that you want to work in the world of television. Being a TV presenter is such a fun and crazy ride and I had so much fun being a VJ on MTV. Not only did I get to work on ‘the’ coolest music channel in the world, but I also interviewed some of my favourite musicians, singers and actors. Jessica Simpson and Hilary Duff were so nice and surprisingly really ‘normal’ girls, Gwen Stefani rocked, and sitting next to Matt Damon was pretty wild. I have to admit, he is even cuter in the flesh! I got my job on MTV when I won a competition to be a VJ. I had to make my own video and send it in. I really didn’t think I had a chance at the time but after several very nerve- wracking call backs, I ended up hosting my own daily request show, ‘MTV’s Most Wanted’. I was really lucky and opportunities like that don’t come around very often. Being a presenter is an exciting career path. I’d suggest you start by doing a course so you can get an idea of what the industry is like, what it’s like to be in front of the camera and if it is actually what you want to pursue. A lot of presenters also study acting and journalism, which can be hugely beneficial and set you apart from everyone else. I wouldn’t recommend a career in TV if you’re quiet or shy. Being on camera can be confronting, especially the first time, so if you think you’ve got what it takes then go for it! Every job has its pros and cons. It’s a very competitive game so be aware that there are a lot of people out there who want the jobs that are available.
Q. My boyfriend has become really good friends with my best friend and I’m starting to feel like he’s falling in love with her.
2 Cents: Even though it seems really cool in the beginning that your best friend and boyfriend like each other there is definitely a fine line that shouldn’t be crossed but when it is, it can tear your heart in two. I remember being out with my friends one night and my best friend (ex-best friend now) was sitting next to my boyfriend at the time and flirting with him right in front of me. As much as I trusted my boyfriend (ex-boyfriend now) and my best friend, I couldn’t help but feel like they were being more than just buddy buddy. I guess it comes down to…. how much do you trust your best friend and your boyfriend? If your bestie loves you as a friend and wouldn’t hurt you, she’d respect your relationship with your man. Maybe I’m old-fashioned but I would never flirt with a friend’s boyfriend even if he was Brad Pitt and we were the only two people on a deserted island. Friends have unspoken rules. Like, never buy a pair of shoes your friend has just bought. Or, always answer her calls in the middle of the night, even though she’s done it every night for the past week! Guys may come and go but girlfriends last forever. Even though he might be flattered by her attention and vice versa, the situation is only going to get worse if you don’t speak to her about it. Don’t be accusing, just ask her what’s going on and if it continues, well, ask her to back off and ask yourself if she’s really a true friend.
