It’s formal night! You’ve had that spray tan, created your own beauty spa with your friends (including manicures, pedicures, waxing and face masks), and are in the process of styling up your final costume! You need to be ready by 6pm when the limousine (being your besties dad) arrives to come and pick you up.

4.00pm
First up, make sure your skin is silky smooth. One of the best and
easiest ways is with Silkymit, which is a mit that
removes hair and smoothes out the blemishes of your skin ($6.75
). Now you’re ready to apply your Fake (but ridiculously
real looking) tan.
You could either go with Ella Bache’s Great Bronze Up ($40), for a beautiful bronze glow that easily washes out in the shower, or a more permanent solution (meaning a weeks worth of tan) such as the Ella Bache Great Mousse Tan ($42), which Jess and Lizzi swore people mistook for a real one.
4.30pm
You begin to prepare yourself for make-up. Firstly, you tie your hair
back with Gliders Snag Free Elastics ($3.95) to ensure
tearing and tangling of your precious locks will be prevented. While
you don’t want your new do to get in the way of your product, you
also want to keep it in your scalp.
4.40pm
You cue your favourite soundtrack and dance around your room for a
bit, busting out your best moves in preparation for a freak dance
off mid-dance floor.
4.50pm
After embarrassing yourself and realising you need to get down to
business, you begin to apply the base coat for your masterpiece -
the foundation. (And of course, after applying your favourite Bronzing/Tanning
lotion from Ella Bache you’ve had to go a tad darker
in the foundation department!)
4.55pm
Your base is down and it’s time to highlight those cheekbones! You
start with Proof’s Breathless Sheer Matte Blush ($29.50),
which can be rich or subtle in colour depending on your application
techniques and then accentuate with the glitter of Inouvi’s
Cheekrouge ($25) This little beauty can be used to sparkle
up lips, cheekbones or eyelids. You gotta love multi-tasking make-up!
Make your eyes dramatic and totally glam.
5.00pm
With just an hour till go time, your next move is to accentuate those
peepers! You begin with Ms Makeup’s Curlicious Eyelash Curler
($11.95) which widens eyes and curls lashes elegantly. Now,
coat with your favourite volumising mascara. Or, if you’re the wild
or freaky type, you could try out 1000hr’s coloured false
lashes ($8.95) in a breathtaking shade of orange or purple.
They’re sure to turn heads with their look at me look!
5.10pm
You’ve taken your time to ensure those eyes are seductively laced
with the best of the best so you have high expectations when it comes
to eyeshadow. You choose to go the metallic look with Inouvi’s
D27 eyeshadow in Silver ($30) which, when applied, goes on
smoothly, creating a totally glam look. Inouvi Amethyst eye
shimmer is a glam vibrant colour with a really nice shine
when it catches the light. A definite party shade.
5.15pm
You grab for your Molly Minx Glitter Gel by Glamourflage ($12.95)
for a touch of glam here and there (perfect for décolletage, cheekbones
and eyelids), and follow it up with the most exotic smelling Shimmer
Puff in Tahitian by Mor ($39.95), which is perfect for all
over body shimmer.
5.25pm
To ensure that you don’t embarrass yourself by being arrested for
indecent exposure, you take a few Fashion First Aid Tapeits
($19.95) out of their nifty container to hold your dress
in place around the appropriate (which may become inappropriate) areas.
You also nab a few extra for your clutch purse knowing that either
your friend will forget hers or you will need them for some life saving,
death defying, media frenzied escapade. (I mean really, what can’t
they do?)
5.40pm
The hardest decision of all… (cue heroic music). Which lip gloss to
take…! You rummage through you precious collection - guarded by 3
deadlocks and a vicious Doberman cross bullmastiff named Fluffy -
to gaze upon the only ones you love: Lip Glaze by Stila,
Supergloss in Raspberry by Proof, and last but most
definitely not least, both the Bijou Beck and Lotus
Lily Lip Balms by the all glam girl Glamourflage.
5.50pm
You have 10 minutes and you still haven’t decided which gloss or balm
you want to take as Fluffy stares at you impatiently. You decide to
not be so ridiculous and indecisive! Take them all you say! And take
them all you do!
6.00pm
Your chauffer arrives and as you climb into the car, you feel quite
relieved and fairly impressed that you pulled it all off without the
help of a make-up artist. That will be something to boast to the girls
about. But forgetting to wear underwear after the breathtaking process
won’t be!
